Delphine Gardey is a historian and sociologist. She is a professor at the University of Versailles Saint Quentin en Yvelines and a member of the Laboratoire "Printemps" (Professions, Institutions, Temporalités) at the CNRS, Paris. She is also associated with the Centre Alexandre Koyré in Paris. Gardey’s research combines the history of technology and science in the 19th and 20th century with gender studies. She is particularly interested in the world of the employee, the office, and information technologies. Gardey is a member of the editorial board of the magazine Travail, Genre, Sociétés. In January 2008 she published Ecrire, calculer, classer. Comment une révolution de papier a transformé les sociétés contemporaines (1800-1940).
