Christiane Rekade
Christiane Rekade is a curator and lives in Berlin. Between 2007 and 2008 she was a curator at the Alte Fabrik in Rapperswil (Switzerland) as part of the KURATOR program. In Rapperswil Rekade showed work by Tomas Saraceno, Monika Sosnowska, Thilo Heinzmann, Helen Mirra and Susan Philipsz, among others. She was a co-curator of the "Eurasia" exhibition which was shown from June to November, 2008, at the MART in Rovereto (Italy). Rekade often collaborates with Caroline Eggel, as for example on "The Trees Bring Forth Sweet Ecstasy" (three parts; Basel/St. Gallen/Zurich, 2007/08) or on the year-long exhibition project "Longingly the Balloons Glide Around the World", which Rekade and Eggel organized in 2005/06 in a purpose-built pavillion in Berlin-Mitte. For many years Rekade worked at the Neugerriemschneider gallery. She writes for Kunstbulletin and Mousse magazines, among others. She is a co-founder, with Emanuel Geisser and Peter Stoffel, of the Appenzell Biennale.
