Ignacio Uriarte
Ignacio Urirtarte was born in 1972 in Krefeld (West Germany). Since
June 2007 he has lived in Berlin. Between 1992 and 1995 Uriarte studied
business economics in Madrid and Mannheim. He then worked in different
capacities at companies such as Siemens, Canon, Interlub and Agilent
Technologies in Germany, Spain, and Mexico. At the same time he studied
audio-visual art at the Centro de Artes Audiovisuales in
Guadalajara, Mexico (from 1998 to 2001). In November 2003 Uriarte gave
up his last office job and dedicated himself fully to so-called "office
art." Between 2004 and 2006 he was artist-in-residence at the Hangar
Barcelona. At the present moment Uriarte holds a fellowship at the
Marcelino-Botin Foundation. Current exhibitions at the Centro
Huarte (Pamplona/Spain, until 31 January, 2009); Galleria Gentili
(Prato/Italy, until 31 January, 2009); and Galerie Feinkost
(Berlin/Germany, until 22 February, 2009).
