Ph.D. Workshop Development as Action in Context, June 16-18, 2010On initiative of the Developmental Divison (Fachgruppe Entwicklungspsychologie) of the German Psychological Association (DGPs), we invited doctoral students (i.e., young scientists working on their Ph.D.) in developmental psychology to participate in a 3-day workshop in June 2010. The location was the Altes Schloss in Dornburg close to the city of Jena. The workshop program comprised lectures, work in groups with students and faculty, and discussions of poster presentations of ongoing Ph.D. studies. Participants worked with national and international experts representing outstanding research in developmental science. To date, these included
Two additional lectures were held by Peter Herrlich and Rainer K. Silbereisen. Please note that we organized several surrounding events for the Ph.D. Workshop. We had two statistic courses by Alexander von Eye (Mediator Analysis/ Longitudinal Data Analysis) and Rolf Steyer (Analysis of total, direct, and indirect effects in experiments and quasi-experiments). In addition, Katariina Salmela-Aro presented a talk.
The Ph.D. workshop was organized by Rainer K. Silbereisen and Karina Weichold of the Center for Applied Developmental Science (CADS) at the University of Jena, Germany, and was supported by the German Psychological Association and the Jena Graduate School Human Behaviour in Social and Economic Change (GSBC).
